A very powerful read highlighting the similarities in successful and interesting women leaders. The personal insights of the women prove especially intriguing and thought provoking. Much to learn about leadership, compassion and balance from these women. I read the book in one sitting because I found myself wanting to know more and more about these women as well as the powerful women "next door." I would have loved to have been coworkers with any of them!
The leadership profiles are realistic, genuine, and share how these ladies persisted toward their goals. Each leader had challenges, made mistakes, and learned from them. Mary Jane pulls together the consistent themes that contributed to their success. Overall an engaging book and I took away solid guidance based on these leaders experiences.

The stories that these ladies relate to the author of this book, Mary Jane Mapes, are fascinating, funny, informative, passionate, and thought-provoking. For a how-to type of book, it's a very entertaining book to read, and contains lots of heartfelt anecdotes as well. This author must be a wonderful interviewer because of the insightful and meaningful information she is able to glean from these successful women. Ms. Mapes is a fine writer, too, because this book is an easy and enjoyable read. I would highly recommend it!

The release of this book couldn't have come at a better time! I had just completed round 5 of a long distance hiring process for a Program Director and I was gearing up for round 6.
I read the book as instructed, skipping around to the most relevant parts, and jotting down notes. Because I only had a few days to prepare, I focused on common attributes that I shared with the women in the book, and those that I seek to strengthen. As I read about their successes and how our common attributes played a role, I thought about examples from my own career path. "Unstoppable" also helped me better define my career future, and how I might best fit into the new organization. And all of this preparation paid off! I was ultimately offered a position (and salary!) higher than what I had applied for.
